The business
A European food and beverage manufacturer with several production sites. Bottling and filling lines run long shifts, and summer and holiday demand leave little room for downtime.
What we protect
On a filling line, an outage is measured in lost bottles per minute and, if a recipe or temperature is wrong, in batches that can’t be sold. The PLCs and SCADA systems that run the lines matter more than any office laptop.
A passive sensor on the plant network reads industrial protocols and builds a picture of every controller, drive and HMI on the line. It flags a new device, a changed program or a laptop talking to a PLC it has never spoken to before.
The boundary between office IT and the plant is watched closely, because that is where most trouble crosses over. So is remote access: packaging and machine suppliers connect in to support their equipment, and every session is checked against what is expected.
Vulnerability findings on the plant are planned around production windows, never in the middle of a run. Office systems, email and sign-ins are covered alongside, with the manufacturer’s existing EDR fed in.
How it works
At onboarding, our Fractional Security Director and the partner team mapped which lines can be touched and when. Nothing on the plant floor is changed automatically, and peak season gets its own rules.
AI sorts and ranks each alert, and our Expert-Led SOC analysts review what it finds. A supplier session at an odd hour is not closed until the checks come back clear.
When a call is needed, it goes to the partner team, who work with the plant’s engineers to act between runs.
Weekly data packs and monthly reports help the manufacturer show its controls against frameworks such as NIS2.
HOW THE SERVICE RUNS
01
Watch
Sensors and the client’s existing tools feed activity from all five surfaces into one view.
02
AI sorts
AI sorts and ranks every alert and writes down why, so the real threats rise to the top.
03
Experts check
Our expert-led SOC investigates around the clock, with a named Fractional Security Director.
04
Partner team acts
Calls go to the partner team, who work with the plant’s engineers to act between runs where they can.
The combination is the point.
Correlated across five surfaces
Every surface is watched at the same time, so a weak signal in one place can be matched with another.
OpenXDR intelligence layer
One platform that joins up what every surface sees, with AI triage ahead of our expert-led SOC.
Watched
IoT/OT
Filling lines and plant controllers, watched passively from the network
Watched
Endpoint
Laptops and servers. The existing EDR stays in place and feeds in.
Watched
Network
Traffic inside the network, watched for threats moving between systems.
Watched
Cloud
Cloud and SaaS activity, watched for risky access and changes.
Watched
Identity
Sign-ins, watched for account takeover and MFA abuse.
Outcome
For the manufacturer
Plant and office watched as one
Supplier access under watch
Security work that fits around production
For the partner
A way into the plant floor with a SOC that understands it
No need to hire OT specialists
A weekly data pack and monthly report to share with the client
