The business
A South Asian automotive manufacturer with more than one plant. Assembly lines run in shifts around the clock, and parts arrive from a large network of suppliers.
What we protect
On an assembly line, much of the equipment is older than the IT systems around it. Welding robots, conveyors and test stations often run controllers that can’t be patched without stopping the line, and some can’t be patched at all.
Passive sensors on each plant network read the industrial traffic and learn what every machine normally does. A change in logic, a new engineering laptop or a controller talking across the line is flagged without touching the machines.
Suppliers connect to share schedules and quality data, and some maintain equipment remotely. Those links are watched as their own boundary, and unexpected traffic from a supplier connection is raised.
Where legacy kit can’t be fixed, vulnerability management records the risk and suggests what can be done around it, such as tighter segmentation. Office IT, sign-ins and the existing EDR feed into the same view.
How it works
Shift patterns shape the setup. At onboarding, the partner team and our Fractional Security Director agreed who is reachable on each shift at each plant. No line is ever stopped automatically.
AI sorts and ranks each alert, and our Expert-Led SOC analysts review what it finds. Every closed alert has its reason written on the case.
Calls go to the partner team, who brief the plant engineers on shift. A new plant is added the same way as the first.
Weekly data packs and monthly reports compare plants side by side, with notes that can be read against ISO 27001.
HOW THE SERVICE RUNS
01
Watch
Sensors and the client’s existing tools feed activity from all five surfaces into one view.
02
AI sorts
AI sorts and ranks every alert and writes down why, so the real threats rise to the top.
03
Experts check
Our expert-led SOC investigates around the clock, with a named Fractional Security Director.
04
Partner team acts
Calls go to the partner team, who brief the plant engineers on the shift. No line is stopped automatically.
The combination is the point.
Correlated across five surfaces
Every surface is watched at the same time, so a weak signal in one place can be matched with another.
OpenXDR intelligence layer
One platform that joins up what every surface sees, with AI triage ahead of our expert-led SOC.
Watched
IoT/OT
Robots, conveyors and test stations, watched passively from the network
Watched
Endpoint
Laptops and servers. The existing EDR stays in place and feeds in.
Watched
Network
Traffic inside the network, watched for threats moving between systems.
Watched
Cloud
Cloud and SaaS activity, watched for risky access and changes.
Watched
Identity
Sign-ins, watched for account takeover and MFA abuse.
Outcome
For the manufacturer
Every plant watched the same way
Legacy equipment in view
Supplier links no longer a blind spot
For the partner
A multi-plant OT service it can run with a small team
A SOC that works around shift patterns
New plants added without changing what is already covered
