The business
A US not-for-profit healthcare provider running primary care clinics and community sites across a region. Most sites have no IT staff on hand, and many employees work remotely or move between locations.
What we protect
For a provider spread over many small clinics, the front door is a login. Phishing emails, stolen passwords and unusual sign-ins are where trouble usually starts, so identity and email get close attention.
We watch sign-ins across the provider’s cloud apps and mailboxes for impossible travel, new devices, MFA fatigue and mailbox rules that quietly forward patient correspondence elsewhere.
Each clinic also has its own small mix of equipment: vital-signs monitors, lab analyzers, label printers, door entry. A passive sensor on the clinic network picks these up and flags new or unexpected devices, with nothing installed on them.
Laptops used at home and on the road report through the provider’s existing EDR, which stays in place. Vulnerability management runs across every site, so an unpatched clinic server two hours away gets the same attention as one at head office.
How it works
A small partner team supports dozens of locations, so it can’t chase every alert. AI takes the first pass, and our Expert-Led SOC analysts check what it finds.
If an account looks taken over, the response agreed at onboarding decides what happens next. Clinic staff are never called directly; the partner team decides who to contact.
Each month our Fractional Security Director looks at trends across sites with the partner, such as which clinics see the most phishing.
Weekly data packs and monthly reports go to the partner, with notes that can be read alongside frameworks such as HIPAA and the NIST CSF.
HOW THE SERVICE RUNS
01
Watch
Sensors and the client’s existing tools feed activity from all five surfaces into one view.
02
AI sorts
AI sorts and ranks every alert and writes down why, so the real threats rise to the top.
03
Experts check
Our expert-led SOC investigates around the clock, with a named Fractional Security Director.
04
Partner team acts
Calls go to the partner team, never to clinic staff. The partner decides who to contact and when.
The combination is the point.
Correlated across five surfaces
Every surface is watched at the same time, so a weak signal in one place can be matched with another.
OpenXDR intelligence layer
One platform that joins up what every surface sees, with AI triage ahead of our expert-led SOC.
Watched
IoT/OT
Medical devices and building systems at each site, watched passively
Watched
Endpoint
Laptops and servers. The existing EDR stays in place and feeds in.
Watched
Network
Traffic inside the network, watched for threats moving between systems.
Watched
Cloud
Cloud and SaaS activity, watched for risky access and changes.
Watched
Identity
Sign-ins, watched for account takeover and MFA abuse.
Outcome
For the provider
Every clinic watched the same way, whether or not IT is on site
The riskiest logins caught early
Clinic staff are never called directly; the partner decides
For the partner
One view of many sites
A SOC that does the first sorting
A client relationship that stays theirs
