The proposal that named a competitor by mistake
The scenario:
You reuse last week's proposal template for a new prospect. One paragraph still has the previous prospect's name in it, or worse, a competitor's name from an internal comparison note that was never meant to leave the building. The prospect notices immediately, and the whole proposal now reads as sloppy regardless of how good the offer is.
The mistake is small. The prospect will remember it long after they've forgotten the pricing on the page.
The prompt:
You are building a final check that catches a proposal before it goes out with someone else's name in it.
Context: [your proposal template as it currently stands, and your last five sent proposals]
Build:
A scan for leftover client names, competitor references, or unreplaced placeholder text
A two-minute final check to run before every send, not after a mistake teaches you to
