The conversation you're not having often enough
The renewal came up. They didn't renew. You never saw it coming.
Most client relationships run on autopilot until something breaks. Quarterly QBRs cover metrics. Day-to-day tickets cover problems. But nobody asks the bigger questions: Is this working? Are you getting what you expected? What would make this better?
The scenario:
You want to conduct annual relationship reviews that surface issues and strengthen partnerships.
The prompt:
You're preparing an annual relationship review.
Create a meeting framework that covers:
- Reflection: What worked well this year? What didn't?
- Expectations: Are we meeting them? Have they changed?
- Communication: Is the cadence right? Right people involved?
- Value: What's the ROI they're seeing? What's missing?
- Future: Where is their business heading? How should we evolve?
Include 10 open-ended questions that invite honest feedback. Add a follow-up template summarising commitments from both sides.
